Growing up is to learn to make peace with who you are.

i really, really like this.
You hated me.
Things about me coming out from your mouth was never good.
You couldn’t see my beauty, you couldn’t see my good.
You couldn’t see my outside and you couldn’t see my inside.
Every little thing I do, every little thing I say…
You couldn’t see eye to eye with them.
You made me half-broken, semi-disfunctional.
I, too, couldn’t see my beauty and my good,
I, too, couldn’t see my outside nor inside.
I could barely love a day being myself.
You did it, you did it.
I tried to bury these demons you planted in me.
And every so often, they crawled out of their coffin coming for my soul.
Didn’t they know, after 22 years, all I had was a soulless shell..
